My clinical practice in the field of Psychology has been evolving
since the completion of my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at the
Universite du Quebec a Montreal, 1980, and the outstanding
internship-training on the Adult Psychiatric ward of the Jewish General
Hospital in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 1979-1980. Firstly, I would like to say
that the entire experience of being a therapist has been ultimately
enjoyable and enriching. I began ,a Montreal-area practice, in the way I
was trained; i.e.,psychoanalytically and psychodynamically. My training
continued with a three year Psychoanalytic Training Course for
Professionals, and then followed by several courses in Clinical Hypnotherapy
and Hypnosis. These courses were undertaken at the Jewish General Hospital
(Montreal) and through the Societe Quebecois d'Hypnose(Montreal).
Through the years, as I continued my private practice, I
encorporated the above-training with further branching out, integrating
other ideas and methods. For example, with some reading and studying, I
involved my clients-patients in artistic-drawing type therapy, holistic
methods (based on some courses), body based therapy through breathing, and body awareness, and Cognitive-Behavioural approaches. Before, but more recently, I involved myself in legal-court-related expertises for Parental
Alienation Syndrome etc.
As a clinician and also for my own Self, I continue reading,
learning to further my understandings and my therapeutic abilities. This is
to further my comprehension of what Psychology is in the bigger sense of the
word. To date, I have treated clients with a myriad of difficulties, some
described here as follows: depression, burn-out, phobias, panic states,
manic-depression, autism, sexual problems, marriage-couple issues, post-traumatic stress disorders,etc.
So, within the scope of my practice of 27 years, I will see, individuals,
couples, adolescents, sometimes the children of those I am seeing.
Currently I am expanding to include Group Workshops in applying the psychological
aspect of various difficulty states, as applied in conjunction with some Eastern traditions such as Yoga, centuries-old breathe techniques, sound-work, etc.
One can psychologically understand some Oriental,or, other various traditions from the point of view of blockages, development of
different parts of the Self etc. As well, I musst say that many of the Arts are of special interst to myself, and, finally, I can say that I enjoy how complex
and interesting each individual can be, that my approach to helping others
involves all of the above using my clinical training as well as my intuition
for each unique therapeutic relationship. I work in English, however, I have
worked in French when, with a dictionary in hand, I can follow the
particular client. Should you have any questions,
please contact me through Aide-en-Ligne, or you can call my office at 514-990-1652.
